History of the Huawei brand
The founder of the company is Ren Zhengfei. In 1987, with an authorized capital of 21,000 yuan, Huawei was established in Shenzhen (China). Originally started with the production of automatic telephone exchanges stations in Hong Kong, aimed at small businesses. In 1992, having accumulated knowledge and resources, the Chinese entered the telecommunications market with the creation of the C & C08 telephone exchange. It became the most productive Chinese switch at that time. Gradually, the company won the Chinese market share and entered the big arena.
In 1997, Huawei enters the international market with its wireless GSM technology, extending it to CDMA and UMTS. In 1999, a research center (R & D) was opened in Bangalore. From 1998 to 2003 a contract with IBM is concluded and the company suffers changes in the management. At the same time, the turnover on the international market began to amount to more than $ 100 million. In 2001, the company creates four more research centers in the US and opens one in Sweden. A year later, international sales reach $ 550 million.
In 2004, the Chinese company is building a third generation network in the Netherlands together with Telfot. This is the first European contract, estimated at $ 25 million. A year later, an agreement is concluded with international mobile operators Vodafone and British Telecom.
In 2008, they open an innovation center in cooperation with Australian telecommunications company Optus and jointly develop mobile broadband concepts. In the same year, Huawei provides the Canadian company TELUS with a new generation wireless network with high-speed mobile access.
Huawei Honor 3 Band
In 2009, Huawei begins to cooperate with TeliaSonera (Norway) and creates with them one of the first commercial LTE networks in the world. A little later, the Chinese launch the world’s first reliable 100G router.
In 2010, the Chinese company invested about $ 600 million in the creation of a production telecom equipment and expansion of the research center in India. In October 2013, Huawei conglomerate selected TDC A / S as the sole supplier for the modernization of the national GSM / UMTS / LTE network in Denmark.
In mid-2014, Huawei is part of the European Council for Next Generation Communications Networks, the 5G Infrastructure Association, with support from the European Commission. A little later this year, Huawei announced the participation in the creation of a research center in the field of 5G in England.
Huawei Device and Smartphones
In the same 2010, the Huawei Device division produces the first phones and tablets under its own brand. Prior to that, the company produced wi-fi routers, telephones and tablets for telecom operators under a foreign brand. The first series of smartphones and tablets was called IDEOS on the Android platform, but in 2012, devices were released on the Windows Phone 8 platform from Microsoft. The phones pretty quickly entered the mobile devices market and took their place next to the leaders in this industry. It was possible to do this with the help of a competitive price and a good quality of devices.
In September 2013 the company opened a new Canadian office in Regina, Canada. Huawei starts collaborating with the local operator SaskTel to build their HSPA + LTE networks and releases their Ascend Y300 smartphone with them.
Many suspect Huawei of having links with the Chinese liberation army and accuse the company of espionage. Nevertheless, the corporation began to represent a real competition to the companies Cisco Systems, Hewlett-Packard and Juniper Networks, as well as leading manufacturers of mobile gadgets.
